AuMAS Resources Bhd has announced a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) totalling about 110,000 ounces of contained gold (at current gold price of US$4,474) at its Andrassy gold project near Tawau, Sabah, marking a key milestone in the group’s exploration programme.
The resource comprises the Bukit Jantung and Bukit Ketupat prospects within Block 1 of the Andrassy project, according to the company’s announcement.
At Bukit Jantung, AuMAS estimated Indicated and Inferred resources of 2.03 million tonnes grading 0.70 grammes per tonne (g/t) of gold, containing approximately 45,500 ounces of gold.
Bukit Ketupat, meanwhile, has an estimated Inferred resource of 1.56 million tonnes grading 1.28 g/t of gold, containing approximately 64,500 ounces.
Combined, the two prospects contain approximately 3.59 million tonnes of mineral resources and 110,000 ounces of gold, based on the maiden estimate.
The Andrassy prospecting licence covers approximately 18,000 hectares in the Tawau Division of southeastern Sabah, about 15km to 25km northwest of Tawau town.
