Gamuda Led Consortium Wins RM2.54 Billion Sydney Metro Station Project

Gamuda Berhad has secured another major infrastructure project in Australia after a consortium involving its Australian subsidiaries was awarded the Sydney Metro West – Parramatta Integrated Station Development project, with the station works valued at AUD880 million (approximately RM2.54 billion).

The group said Sydney Metro awarded the project on Sept 3 to the Riverside Link Consortium, comprising Gamuda Engineering Pty Ltd (GE Australia), Gamuda (Australia) Pty Ltd (GL Australia) and MTR Corporation (Australia) Pty Ltd.

The principal component involves the design and construction of the future Parramatta metro station and associated station infrastructure, while the overall project also carries development rights for commercial, retail and residential buildings above and adjacent to the station.

For the station works, GE Australia and MTR Australia will participate on an 80:20 basis, respectively, giving Gamuda an effective 80% participation in the AUD880 million design-and-construct contract.

Work is scheduled to commence on Sept 4, 2026, with completion targeted for 2032.

Gamuda said the award follows the successful delivery of the Sydney Metro Western Tunnelling Package (WTP), which is expected to be completed in the coming months, as well as its award of the Sydney Metro West Stations Package West (SPW).

The SPW package involves the delivery of five stations at Westmead, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock and The Bays, with completion also targeted for 2032.

With the Parramatta project, Gamuda Engineering Australia will be responsible for delivering its sixth station along the Sydney Metro West alignment.

Shares of Gamuda was halted today pending this significant announcement.
