Agro Event, MAHA 2026 Records RM66 Million In Sales, Targets To Attract RM10 Billion In Investment

The Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 has recorded RM66 million in sales value, as the government seeks to leverage the country’s flagship agriculture showcase to attract as much as RM10 billion in investments, according to Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

Mohamad said the government is targeting RM10 billion in potential investments through MAHA 2026, reflecting efforts to use the event to facilitate larger business partnerships and capital commitments in Malaysia’s agriculture and food industries.

MAHA has traditionally brought together participants spanning agriculture, horticulture, livestock, fisheries, food production, agro-based industries and agrotechnology, providing businesses and entrepreneurs with opportunities to market their products while connecting with potential partners and investors.

The RM10 billion investment ambition also comes as Malaysia seeks to accelerate the modernisation of its agriculture sector, including greater adoption of technology, automation and higher-productivity farming practices.

Investment will be critical as the country works to strengthen domestic food production and supply-chain resilience while reducing vulnerabilities arising from its dependence on imports for some food products and agricultural inputs.

Mohamad said the government remains focused on using MAHA as a platform to strengthen the agriculture sector’s commercial ecosystem while attracting investment that can support the industry’s longer-term development.
