Perlis, which has experienced prolonged dry conditions, is expected to receive thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds this evening, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
The weather warning, issued at 2.50 pm today, covers the entire state of Perlis and several areas in Kedah, namely Langkawi, Kubang Pasu and Kota Setar.
The warning is in effect until 7 pm today.
MetMalaysia advised the public in the affected areas to remain alert as thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds could occur during the warning period.
