AirAsia Makes It Easier To Fly For Festivals Across Asean

AirAsia is making it easier for travellers to plan trips around live events by bringing flights and official event tickets into a single booking, starting with Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) 2026 in Jakarta.

The move comes as concerts, festivals, sporting events and cultural experiences increasingly become reasons for people to travel across Asean.

Through AirAsia MOVE’s MOVETIX platform, travellers can book their DWP ticket and flight from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta together, with the package starting from RM1,300 and offering savings of up to 20%.

MOVETIX said travel bookings to destinations around major events and concerts have increased by 10% to 15%, highlighting the growing link between live entertainment and travel.

Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A, said, “Travel has been about more than getting from one place to another, especially in recent times. It’s about the experiences that bring people together. As live events increasingly inspire people to travel, we see a huge opportunity to connect more people with the music, culture and moments they love across Asean.

“By bringing together AirAsia’s connectivity and AirAsia MOVE’s travel ecosystem under MOVETIX, we want to make those experiences more accessible and help people discover more of our region along the way.”

DWP has run for 18 years and attracts fans from across Asia, Australia and Europe, turning the festival into a destination event in its own right.

The new bundle is intended to make such cross-border festival trips easier to plan, while giving event organisers access to audiences beyond their home markets.

DWP 2026 marks the first launch, with the model expected to extend to more concerts, festivals, sporting events and cultural experiences across Asean.
