Trevor Noah Finally Says Yes To Perform In Kuala Lumpur

Internationally acclaimed comedian and former The Daily Show host Trevor Noah will perform in Malaysia for the first time on Nov 9, 2026, as Kuala Lumpur joins the South African comedian’s global stand-up circuit.

Presented by LOL Asia and BOHM, the show will take place at Ideas LIVE Arena, Kuala Lumpur, at 8pm, bringing one of the world’s most recognisable comedy personalities to Malaysian audiences.

The Kuala Lumpur appearance will feature Noah’s signature observational comedy, drawing on politics, race, culture, relationships and contemporary life through the international perspective that has shaped his career.

“For 14 years, I chased Trevor to come to Malaysia. He will finally make it here for the first time,” LOL Asia chief executive officer Rizal Kamal said.

“Trevor belongs to a rare category of performer who can cross cultures, find the joke and still retain the humanity. Malaysia has a sophisticated audience. I think they will appreciate exactly what makes him so special.”

Born in Johannesburg, Noah began his career in South Africa’s comedy scene before building an international following.

His global profile rose significantly after joining The Daily Show as a correspondent before succeeding Jon Stewart as host in 2015.

Noah hosted the programme for seven years until 2022, bringing his perspective as a South African to discussions surrounding US and international politics, culture and current affairs.

His career has since expanded across stand-up comedy, television, publishing, podcasting and production.

Noah is a two-time Emmy Award winner and the author of Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, which became a No. 1 New York Times bestseller and has sold more than three million copies across formats.

His second book, Into the Uncut Grass, also became a No. 1 New York Times bestseller.

Noah currently hosts the weekly What Now? With Trevor Noah podcast and is the founder of Day Zero Productions and the Trevor Noah Foundation.

In 2026, he returned to Netflix with his latest comedy special, Trevor Noah: Joy in the Trenches, while also returning to host the Grammy Awards for a sixth consecutive year, serving as host and executive producer.

Noah’s previous Off The Record world tour sold out shows across five continents, including performances at the Hollywood Bowl, a 10-show run at New York’s Beacon Theatre and three sold-out shows at London’s O2.

LOL Asia said Noah’s Malaysian debut reflects the continued development of the country’s live entertainment and comedy scene, with the performance expected to appeal to audiences familiar with his television work, stand-up specials, books and podcast.

Tickets for the Kuala Lumpur show will go on presale at 10am on Sept 9, followed by the general sale at 10am on Sept 11 through the official Fantopia ticketing platform.
