L&P Global Berhad is targeting growth in its pallet business following its newly obtained licence from the European Pallet Association as an approved manufacturer and repair centre.
The licence enables L&P to manufacture EPAL pallets according to internationally recognised specifications and repair EPAL pallets already in circulation.
The Group commenced revenue generation from EPAL pallets in July 2026 through manual production, beginning with small batches to support customer onboarding, product qualification and market development. An automated production line is being installed and is on track for commissioning in the latter part of 2026, which is expected to improve production efficiency, consistency and scalability. Allowing for a period of ramp up and customer volume development, the Group anticipates meaningful revenue contribution from EPAL pallets in the first quarter of 2027.
The licence differentiates L&P from conventional pallet manufacturers by enabling the Group to produce and repair pallets for the international EPAL exchange pool. This allows EPAL pallets to be exchanged across supply chains, reducing the need for single use packaging.
Demand for certified and reusable packaging solutions is being supported by tighter packaging requirements. The European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation which applies from 12 August 2026, introduces stricter requirements relating to packaging reuse, recyclability and waste reduction.
The EPAL licence positions L&P to support multinational manufacturers exporting to Europe, as well as regional logistics providers seeking standardised, traceable and reusable pallet solutions.
