Emirates Gives Premium Economy A Privacy Upgrade

Emirates has introduced what it describes as the world’s first electrically powered Premium Economy seat with a full-height adjustable privacy screen, giving passengers more control over their personal space.

The new seats will debut on the airline’s newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft, with each Premium Economy seat fitted with a privacy divider that can be raised or lowered using the seat controls.

The divider extends to the full height of the seat and can be locked into position, allowing passengers to create a more private space for working, dining or relaxing.

The A350 Premium Economy cabin has 28 seats arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration. The seats are 20 inches wide with up to 39 inches of pitch and can recline into a cradle position without intruding into the row behind.

Passengers can also electrically adjust their seating position through an integrated control unit, including dedicated lounge and meal modes.

The seats come with adjustable U-Dream headrests, leather footrests and, for the first time in Emirates Premium Economy, wireless charging. USB-C ports and phone holders are also provided.

For entertainment, each seat has a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen running Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system. The new A350 aircraft will also feature additional exterior camera views showing the left and right sides of the aircraft.

The airline said the new seat forms part of its wider expansion of Premium Economy, which was first introduced in 2022 and is now available across markets currently served by its A350 aircraft.
