MSC Rahman Hydraulic Tin Resumes Operation After Nearly One Month Shutdown

Malaysia Smelting Corporation Bhd (MSC) said its 80%-owned subsidiary, Rahman Hydraulic Tin Sdn Bhd (RHT), has received approval from the Department of Minerals and Geosciences Perak (JMG Perak) to resume mining operations.

MSC said the written approval was received on Sept 11, 2026, with mining operations allowed to resume with effect from the same day.

The development follows the temporary suspension of mining activities announced by the company on Aug 18, 2026.

MSC said RHT remains committed to maintaining safe and responsible mining practices and complying with all applicable regulatory requirements.

The subsidiary will continue working closely with the relevant authorities on matters involving environmental safety, protection and preservation.

RHT will also continue to monitor weather and site conditions closely and implement appropriate measures to manage risks arising from extreme weather.

The company did not provide further details on the financial impact of the earlier suspension or the expected contribution following the resumption of operations.
