Qube-Osaka Pact Opens New Japan Gateway For Malaysian Businesses

Malaysian businesses, particularly SMEs and brands seeking regional expansion, stand to gain wider access to Japan and new cross-border business opportunities under a collaboration between Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd and the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau (OCTB).

The two organisations have signed a memorandum of collaboration to link the business events ecosystems of Malaysia and Osaka, with the partnership covering destination promotion, market development across Japan and ASEAN, industry knowledge-sharing, talent development and delegation exchanges.

The agreement is aimed at creating more opportunities for Malaysian exhibitors and business delegations to enter the Japanese market, while also attracting more international conferences, exhibitions and events to Malaysia.

Qube executive chairman Richard Teo said the collaboration reflects the company’s push to connect Malaysian businesses with high-value international markets, positioning Osaka as a trusted gateway into Japan and the wider region.

OCTB director general Yoshikazu Tanaka, meanwhile, said the partnership would deepen ties between the two business events ecosystems through knowledge-sharing, delegation exchanges and new cross-border opportunities for organisers and communities in both markets.

The collaboration also comes as Osaka builds on the momentum of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, which drew about 29 million visitors and participants from more than 150 countries, regions and international organisations, further strengthening the city’s global profile and MICE capabilities.

For Qube, which has built its business around helping companies — particularly Malaysian SMEs and brands — expand through trade shows, international expos and strategic events, the Osaka tie-up adds another platform to support companies looking to grow their international reach.
