Haze conditions continued to affect parts of Malaysia on the morning of Sept 13, with six locations recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 9am, led by Serian in Sarawak at 185.
According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Sri Aman recorded an API of 174, while Samarahan and Kuching both stood at 156. Sibu registered 109.
In Peninsular Malaysia, Johan Setia, Selangor, was the only location at the unhealthy level, with an API reading of 120.
No areas nationwide recorded air quality at the very unhealthy or hazardous levels as of 9am.
Overall, 54 areas registered moderate air quality, while eight recorded readings in the good range.
Under the API classification, readings of 0-50 are considered good, 51-100 moderate, 101-200 unhealthy, 201-300 very unhealthy, while readings above 300 are classified as hazardous.
