Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) has secured a S$208.1 million (RM667.6 million) land tender in Singapore, marking the group’s debut as a property developer in the city-state.
Its wholly owned subsidiary, Eco World Development (S) Pte Ltd, was confirmed as the winning bidder for a 4,283.4 sq m parcel at Lorong Puntong/Sin Ming Avenue offered by Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority.
The site comes with a 99-year lease and can be developed into residential condominiums or flats with a maximum gross floor area of 11,994 sq m.
EcoWorld president and CEO Datuk Seri Chang Khim Wah said the site’s location, transport links and surrounding amenities made it attractive to Singapore’s upgrader and multi-generational family segments.
EcoWorld plans to launch the project in 2028 under its new VERSIONE series, featuring curated lifestyle apartments targeted at specific customer groups.
Chang said the development would seek to create a distinctive residential enclave aimed at discerning Singaporean buyers.
While this will be EcoWorld’s first development project in Singapore, the group has maintained a marketing presence there since 2015.
Chang said the company had also built familiarity with Singaporean buyers through its Malaysian townships, Eco Business Parks and retail hubs, particularly in Iskandar Malaysia.
He added that improving cross-border connectivity between Johor and Singapore could further strengthen the group’s reach among Singaporean customers.
