Senior citizens in Selangor will be able to receive a RM150 voucher during their birth month following a new intake under the Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE) programme.
“It is our birthday voucher to appreciate senior citizens aged 60 and above,” Bandar Utama assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin said during a National Day and Malaysia Day celebration in SS20 Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Applications open at 8am today and will close when the quota is filled or on Dec 31, whichever comes first.
Successful applicants will receive their Jom Shopping vouchers, valid for 90 days at participating merchants, during their birth month starting 2027.
SMUE is part of the Skim Mesra programme, which also includes Skim Mesra Insan Istimewa (SMIS) for persons with disabilities.
A combined quota of 50,000 new registrations has been allocated for both categories.
SMUE applicants must be Malaysians aged 60 and above who are registered voters in Selangor.
SMIS applicants must be Malaysians holding valid disability cards issued by the Social Welfare Department.
Those aged 19 and above must be registered Selangor voters, while applicants aged 18 and below require a parent or guardian and must meet residency and voter requirements.
The vouchers can be used at designated supermarkets and must be used within three months of redemption.
They can be redeemed at DUN service centres by presenting your MyKad for verification. Distribution will begin in 2027.
