Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain To Hit 10 States

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected across parts of 10 states until 5pm on Sept 18 as unsettled weather continues across large parts of Malaysia.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the warning covers Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Sabah.

In Kedah, affected areas include Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Baling, Sik, Padang Terap, Pokok Sena and Pendang, while Hulu Perak is affected in Perak.

The warning covers the whole of Kelantan, as well as Besut and Setiu in Terengganu.

In Pahang, thunderstorms are forecast for Bentong, Lipis, Pekan, Rompin, Cameron Highlands and Raub, while Selangor’s Hulu Langat, Gombak and Hulu Selangor are also affected.

Negeri Sembilan areas under the warning include Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah and Rembau, while Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah are affected in Melaka.

Several parts of Sabah are also expected to experience severe weather, including the West Coast and districts in the Interior, Sandakan and Kudat divisions.
