Haze Situation Expands To 27 Locations, APIMS

The haze situation has expanded to 27 locations nationwide, with air quality reaching unhealthy levels as of 4 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

Based on data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Serian recorded the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading at 173, followed by Samarahan at 168 and Putrajaya at 161.

Nilai recorded an API reading of 160, while Shah Alam and Sri Aman registered 157 each. Segamat recorded 156, while Batu Pahat, Bintulu, Tangkak and Politeknik Kota Kinabalu each recorded 155.

According to BuletinTV3, the latest readings showed unhealthy air quality across several areas in Sarawak, Johor, Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang and Sabah.

Other locations with unhealthy readings included Bukit Rambai, Miri and Sibu at 153 each; Bandaraya Melaka and Larkin at 152; Petaling Jaya at 151; and Batu Muda at 147.

The readings were also unhealthy in Banting at 132, Port Dickson at 126, Alor Gajah at 119, Limbang at 116, Indera Mahkota Kuantan at 111, Kuala Selangor at 108, Klang at 107, ILP Miri at 106 and Balok Baru Kuantan at 103.

Meanwhile, 29 locations recorded moderate API readings, while six locations registered good air quality.
