A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck off Batu Pahat, Johor, with tremors felt across several states and parts of the Klang Valley.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the weak earthquake occurred at 4.55pm on Sept 22, with its epicentre located about 27km southwest of Batu Pahat.
The quake was recorded at coordinates 1.7° North and 102.7° East, at a depth of 10km.
MetMalaysia said tremors were felt in several areas across Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, as well as surrounding areas.
The department said it would continue to monitor the situation.
