A vibrant orchestral suite drawn from Bernstein’s iconic musical West Side Story. Combining jazz, Latin rhythms, lyrical melodies, and explosive dance music, it captures the passion, conflict, and energy of New York City.
Bright, energetic, and brilliantly orchestrated, the Candide Overture opens Bernstein’s operetta with sparkling rhythms, playful melodies, and dazzling virtuosity. It is one of the composer’s most celebrated concert works.
Johan de Meij’s dramatic symphonic arrangement brings Andrew Lloyd Webber’s haunting melodies from The Phantom of the Opera to the concert stage. Richly scored for wind orchestra, it explores the mystery, romance, and tragedy of the legendary story.
