Bursa Malaysia extended its positive momentum as gainers continued to outpace losers, with broad-based buying lifting several banking, technology and healthcare counters.
Market breadth remained favourable, with 678 gainers against 458 losers. A total of 572 counters were unchanged, 1,165 untraded and 11 suspended.
Among the session’s top gainers, Hong Leong Bank Bhd led the pack with a 48-sen rise to RM23.38.
Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd advanced 40 sen to RM43.20, while IHH Healthcare Bhd gained 38 sen to RM8. Stratus Global Holdings Bhd climbed 37 sen to RM3.18 and MI Technovation Bhd added 33 sen to RM5.99.
Despite the broader positive tone, selected heavyweights came under selling pressure.
Nestlé (M) Bhd topped the losers list after falling 54 sen to RM89.16, followed by Allianz Malaysia Bhd, which declined 20 sen to RM21.10.
Petronas Dagangan Bhd slipped 18 sen to RM20.14, while Sunway Healthcare Holdings Bhd fell 12 sen to RM2.17. Edaran Bhd rounded out the top five decliners, shedding 11 sen to RM1.02.
Trading activity also strengthened, with turnover rising to 3.57 billion units worth RM3.15 billion compared to 2.93 billion units valued at RM2.49 billion on Sept 21.
