Isack Hadjar will return to Red Bull Racing for this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix after recovering from a wrist injury, with Liam Lawson moving back to Racing Bulls.
Red Bull confirmed that Hadjar has been cleared to race at the Baku City Circuit, returning to the team alongside Max Verstappen after missing the races in Zandvoort, Monza and Madring.
“Oracle Red Bull Racing is delighted to welcome Isack back this weekend,” the team said in a statement.
Hadjar’s last race came at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July before his wrist injury, sustained during summer training, ruled him out of the subsequent three rounds.
Lawson had stepped in for Hadjar at Red Bull during his absence and will now return to Racing Bulls, while Yuki Tsunoda moves back into reserve duties.
Red Bull thanked Lawson for his contribution during the three races, highlighting his professionalism and performances while standing in.
The Azerbaijan weekend will begin earlier than usual to avoid a clash with the country’s Remembrance Day on Sept 27, with free practice scheduled for Thursday, qualifying on Friday and the Grand Prix on Saturday.
