Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are forecast across parts of the Klang Valley and several states in the peninsula, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
A thunderstorm warning issued at 3:30 pm today covers parts of Selangor, including Hulu Selangor, as well as Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Johor.
The warning is in effect until 6 pm today.
Areas covered include Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik and Baling in Kedah; Kinta, Kampar, Kuala Kangsar, Batang Padang, Muallim, Kerian, Larut Matang, Selama and Hulu Perak in Perak; Gua Musang in Kelantan; and Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu and Marang in Terengganu.
The warning also covers Jelebu and Jempol in Negeri Sembilan, and Kota Tinggi, Kluang, Kulai, Johor Bahru, Pontian and Mersing in Johor, while the whole of Pahang is included.
MetMalaysia’s district forecasts also indicate isolated thunderstorms in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling and Klang today, particularly during the afternoon.
The department advises the public to monitor the latest weather warnings and forecasts as conditions may change.
