Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Airbus, has secured a 12-year aircraft maintenance and end-of-lease (EOL) contract with Philippine carrier Cebu Pacific covering seven A320 aircraft.
The work will be carried out at SAE’s facility at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) between 2027 and 2028. The agreement was announced during the MRO Asia-Pacific event in Singapore on Sept 23.
The latest contract builds on the existing relationship between SAE and Cebu Pacific, with SAE having previously carried out heavy maintenance and ad hoc EOL checks, aircraft engine changes and skin panel replacement work for the airline.
SAE has also supported Cebu Pacific’s maintenance operations in Manila, with its engineers deployed on-site to work on the carrier’s fleet when required.

“This latest agreement is a clear sign of trust and confidence placed by the carrier on the work we do. We appreciate Cebu Pacific’s continued support for SAE.”
Shevantha Weerasekera, Vice President for Engineering and Fleet Management of Cebu Pacific, said maintaining the safety, airworthiness and reliability of its fleet remained fundamental to the airline’s operations.
“Our continued partnership with Sepang Aircraft Engineering provides us with trusted MRO expertise to support the maintenance and airworthiness of our A320 fleet,” she said.
“As we prepare the aircraft for return to its lessor, working with experienced maintenance partners allows us to ensure that the aircraft is maintained to the required standards and remains in optimal condition for a smooth and efficient redelivery.”
SAE specialises in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for commercial aircraft, engines and components.
Its facility at KLIA comprises two hangars with a combined area of about 50,000 square metres and can accommodate up to eight aircraft at a time for major maintenance checks.
