Insas To Dispose Remaining Stake In Inari Amertron Worth RM580 Million

Insas Bhd is seeking shareholders’ approval for a mandate to dispose of its remaining 5.65% equity interest in semiconductor company Inari Amertron Bhd, with the stake carrying an indicative market value of RM580.02 million.

The group said the proposed mandate covers up to 218.05 million Inari shares held through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Insas Technology Bhd and Media Lang Ltd.

The shares may be sold in the open market or to third-party purchasers in one or more tranches, with the timing and disposal prices to be determined later.

Based on Inari’s closing share price of RM2.66 on Sept 11, 2026, the stake was valued at RM580.02 million. However, the actual proceeds will depend on the prices achieved when the shares are sold.

Insas said the group had transacted a total of 296.63 million Inari shares worth RM611.32 million over the 12 months up to Sept 11, at an average transaction price of approximately RM2.06 per share.

Insas said the exercise would allow it to monetise its longstanding investment in Inari and provide flexibility to dispose of the shares when suitable opportunities arise.

The original investment cost of the remaining 218.05 million shares was approximately RM23.72 million, while their unaudited carrying value stood at RM158.32 million as at June 30, 2026.

The company has yet to identify purchasers or determine the final disposal prices.
