Nestle (M) Bhd led Bursa Malaysia’s decliners on Sept 25, while Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd (MPI) topped the gainers as market breadth remained almost evenly split.
Decliners narrowly outpaced gainers 590 to 575, while 534 counters were unchanged. Another 1,224 counters were untraded and 43 suspended.
Nestle fell RM1.26 to RM90.20, making it the day’s biggest loser. Followed by United Plantations Bhd, which dropped 52 sen to RM32.58, while Petronas Dagangan Bhd declined 50 sen to RM19.50.
Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd slipped 36 sen to RM30, while Sarawak Oil Palms Bhd lost 25 sen to RM5.73.
On the upside, MPI climbed 68 sen to RM44.18, leading the gainers. Batu Kawan Bhd advanced 50 sen to RM20.50, while Heineken Malaysia Bhd gained 38 sen to RM13.82. UWC Bhd rose 37 sen to RM6.88, while Hong Leong Industries Bhd added 30 sen to RM16.96.
Trading volume expanded to 4.07 billion units worth RM2.69 billion compared to 3.32 billion units valued at RM2.74 billion on Sept 24.
