“Madden”, the biopic of famed NFL coach, TV broadcaster and the man behind EA’s Madden video game franchise, showed off its official trailer Thursday ahead of its November 11 release in select theaters and Prime Video streaming launch November 18.
Nicolas Cage portrays John Madden as he led the Oakland Raiders, owned by Al Davis (Christian Bale), to the Super Bowl title in 1977. After being forced to retire amid health issues, Madden, with his quirky, homespun style, reinvented himself as an NFL analyst and the football brain behind EA’s video game franchise that would become one of the best selling ever.
Kathryn Hahn also stars as Madden’s wife, Virginia, while Sienna Miller plays Davis’ wife, Carol. Shane Gillis also stars.
Russell directed from a script he wrote following an earlier version by Cambron Clark. Todd Black is producing through his Escape Artists banner along with partners Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch, and Jonathan Shukat alongside Russell and Matthew Budman. Escape Artists’ David Bloomfield is executive producer.
“Madden” will be released on Prime Video on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
