Thirty-four roads in Kuala Lumpur will be closed or subject to traffic diversions from as early as 3:30 am tomorrow for the Coway Run 2026 at Stadium Merdeka.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department deputy chief Superintendent Suffian Abdullah said the closures would be implemented in stages and lifted progressively after the event, which is expected to draw about 10,000 participants.
The affected roads are Jalan Stadium, Jalan Maharajalela, Jalan Dewan Bahasa, Jalan Bukit Petaling, Jalan Bellamy, Jalan Hang Tuah, Jalan Hang Jebat, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Conlay, Jalan Kia Peng, Jalan Perak, Jalan Tun Ismail, Jalan Tunku, Jalan Langgak Tunku, Jalan Pinggiran Tunku and Jalan Girdle.
Also affected are Jalan Bukit Tunku, Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Dato Onn, Bulatan Dato Onn, Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Sultan, Jalan Petaling, Bulatan Merdeka, Jalan Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Putra.
Suffian advised motorists to avoid the affected routes, plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes or public transport where possible.
The Coway Run 2026 will take place at Stadium Merdeka tomorrow.
