Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd topped the losers list, tumbling RM1.98 to RM42.20, followed by United Plantations Bhd, which fell 98 sen to RM31.60. Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd dropped 78 sen to RM22.22, while Hong Leong Industries Bhd declined 30 sen to RM16.66. Kelington Group Bhd rounded out the top five decliners, losing 27 sen to RM8.72.
On the upside, Hong Leong Bank Bhd led the gainers with a 22 sen rise to RM23.36. Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd advanced 18 sen to RM18.90, while Ayer Holdings Bhd gained 12 sen to RM7.60.
Grand Central Enterprises Bhd climbed 11 sen to 42 sen, while APM Automotive Holdings Bhd added 10 sen to RM2.80.
Market activity moderated, with turnover slipping to 3.11 billion units worth RM2.4 billion compared to 4.07 billion units valued at RM2.69 billion on Sept 25.
A total of 1,271 counters were untraded, while 91 were suspended.
