Powerwell Holdings Bhd will take on the role of system integrator for power transfer units (PTUs) under a strategic collaboration with Socomec Innovative Solution (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, strengthening its push into Malaysia’s growing large data centre and hyperscale market.
Through wholly owned subsidiary Powerwell International Sdn Bhd, the group will integrate factory-built PTU modules that combine power distribution and uninterruptible power supply systems, using UPS solutions supplied by Socomec.
The arrangement combines Powerwell’s capabilities in electrical distribution manufacturing and system integration with Socomec’s UPS technology and technical expertise, allowing the partners to offer more complete power infrastructure solutions for large-scale data centre facilities.
Powerwell said the collaboration will enhance its competitiveness in the data centre and hyperscale segment, which remains a key growth area for the group as demand for reliable and scalable power infrastructure continues to rise.
Socomec Malaysia is part of France-based Socomec Group, which specialises in low-voltage energy performance across power conversion, switching and monitoring systems.
The group serves critical infrastructure sectors including data centres, buildings, healthcare, industry, rail and renewable energy, with more than 5,200 employees globally and annual turnover of close to €1 billion.
