Bursa Snaps Losing Run, FBM KLCI Closes Above 1,650

Bursa Malaysia ended higher on the last trading of September, with the benchmark index rebounding from recent losses as oversold conditions drew bargain hunters back into the market.

At 5pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 7.21 points, or 0.44%, to 1,651.17 from 1,643.96 on Sept 29. The index moved between 1,645.03 and 1,657.41 during the session.

The broader market, however, was mixed, with the FBM 70 slipping 35.42 points, or 0.2%, to 17,574.67, while the F4GBM gained 2.29 points, or 0.23%, to 996.46.

The FBM Emas advanced 26.55 points, or 0.22%, to 12,292.02, while the FBM Shariah climbed 48.74 points, or 0.4%, to 12,176.35.

Among the most active counters, Zetrix AI Bhd slipped half a sen to 16 sen, with 276.17 million shares traded, followed by VS Industry Bhd, which jumped 4.5 sen to 28 sen on 201.18 million shares, while JAKS Resources Bhd gained 1.5 sen to 20.5 sen with 99.33 million shares changing hands.

Gamuda Bhd rose 20 sen to RM5.18 on 87.44 million shares, while AIMAX Bhd was unchanged at half a sen, with 46.54 million shares traded.

Total turnover improved to 3.63 billion units worth RM3.62 billion from 3.31 billion units valued at RM2.95 billion on Sept 29.
