Singapore stocks opened lower on Thursday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) falling 19.57 points or 0.34% to 5,656.31 as of 9.06am.
Market breadth was weak, with 65 gainers against 133 decliners. Trading volume stood at 107.64 million shares with a total value of S$379.78 million.
Among the STI constituents, DBS fell 40 cents or 0.52% to S$77.10, while OCBC traded at S$31.84 and UOB at S$42.67.
Singtel was at S$4.25, Singapore Exchange traded at S$22.48 and CapitaLand Investment at S$2.50. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding was at S$5.09.
REITs were also mostly lower, with Frasers Centrepoint Trust falling two cents or 0.96% to S$2.07. CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust and CapitaLand Ascendas REIT both traded at S$2.26, while Keppel DC REIT was at S$2.14.
In derivatives, FTSE China A50 Index futures stood at 13,963 as of 8.54am, while Nikkei 225 Index futures traded at 67,815.
SGX FTSE Taiwan Index futures stood at 64,253.50, while MSCI Singapore Index futures were at 527.95.
