Govt Investigation Claims Of Vehicle Having Issues After Filling Petrol In Penang

The government is investigating claims that several vehicles developed problems after being refuelled at a petrol station in Batu Kawan, Penang, with the cause of the reported incidents yet to be established.

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) in Penang has deployed a team of officers to investigate the claims, which have circulated on social media.

A state KPDN spokesperson said the ministry was aware of the reports and was examining the matter before issuing any official statement.

Several posts on Threads claimed that vehicles failed to start shortly after their owners filled up at petrol stations in Penang. Some users also urged motorists to exercise caution when refuelling at several locations in the northern region.

The reports have led to speculation that contaminated fuel, including fuel mixed with water, could be responsible for the vehicle problems. However, there has been no official confirmation that fuel contamination caused the incidents.

KPDN said investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of the reported vehicle problems.
