Jade Thirlwall is not working on a new pop album, but for a nature documentary.
The former Little Mix star worked with legendary composer Hans Zimmer on Into The Deep (Seas Cry), a piece created for the launch of the series narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
Thirlwall, who debuted the track on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show, told host Greg James working on it was a “very special” experience.
Blue Planet III is due to air this autumn, but an official release date is yet to be announced.
“When this opportunity came in, I might have shed a little tear,” she said.
“I was just so buzzing to be a part of something so special.
“I’m a huge David Attenborough fan, I love the planet, I love the oceans. It was so magical getting to write a song all about that.”
