HI Mobility Berhad announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, has received a letter of intent from Land Public Transport Agency on the appointment as the network operator under the Stage Bus Service Transformation programme in Johor Bahru from 1 January 2027 to 31 March 2031.
The non-binding LOI will allow Handal to discuss on service scope, contractual terms, contract value and other relevant matters to be further developed and formalised ahead of the issuance of any letter of acceptance.
HI Mobility’s Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Lim Chern Chuen said, “We are encouraged by this LOI and the opportunity for Handal Indah to build on its longstanding involvement in Johor Bahru’s public transport network. With Johor Bahru continuing to strengthen its position as a major economic and connectivity hub, the development of an efficient and well-connected public transport network will become increasingly important. We remain committed to working constructively with the government and relevant stakeholders to support Johor Bahru’s evolving mobility needs, and look forward to progressing the discussions with APAD.”
