Record 38 Areas Nationwide Show Unhealthy Air Conditions With Segamat Highest

A total of 38 areas nationwide recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at 3pm on Thursday, with Segamat in Johor posting the highest reading at 190.

In Selangor, Johan Setia recorded the state’s highest API reading at 178, followed by Shah Alam at 171, Banting at 170, Klang at 166, Petaling Jaya at 165 and Kuala Selangor at 142.

Segamat’s reading of 190 was followed by Seremban at 186, Nilai at 185 and Kluang at 181.

Rompin in Pahang recorded an API of 178, matching Johan Setia, while Putrajaya stood at 175.

Other areas in the unhealthy category included Cheras in Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Rambai and Bandaraya Melaka at 174 each, as well as Pasir Gudang and Tangkak in Johor at 173.

Meanwhile, another 30 areas across the country recorded moderate air quality.

Under the API classification, readings between 101 and 200 are categorised as unhealthy, while readings between 51 and 100 are considered moderate.
