Marvel Turns To Espionage With New Series ‘Zodiac’ Set For 2028

Marvel Television is adding a new spy thriller to its 2028 lineup, with Zodiac marking a fresh move for a live-action TV slate that has grown noticeably leaner.

Announced at New York Comic-Con on Oct 8, the series will bring a spy-thriller angle to the Marvel universe. Details about the cast, storyline and creative team have yet to be revealed, leaving the project’s central mystery firmly under wraps.

The timing, however, is significant. As Marvel prepares to introduce Zodiac, several of its established live-action series are approaching their final chapters, signalling a shift in the studio’s television strategy.

The upcoming VisionQuest, starring Paul Bettany, is set to close out the trilogy that began with WandaVision. The new series follows Vision after his return in the aftermath of Avengers: Infinity War, with the character reportedly attempting to recover his memories and reconnect with his humanity.

Meanwhile, Daredevil: Born Again is expected to conclude with its third season in 2027. The series brought Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock and welcomed Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones into its latest chapter, reconnecting audiences with familiar street-level characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The studio has also pulled back on Wonder Man, reversing its plans for a second season.

Against that backdrop, Zodiac arrives as a notable addition rather than just another title on Marvel’s release calendar. Its spy-thriller format could offer a different direction for the franchise’s television storytelling, although the studio has yet to disclose how the series will fit into the wider MCU.

For now, the confirmed details are limited: Zodiac is a live-action series, it is being developed by Marvel Television, and it is scheduled to arrive in 2028.

Whether the show introduces a new corner of the Marvel universe or connects to familiar characters remains to be seen. With two years to go before its planned release, the next major question is what kind of spy story Marvel intends to tell — and who will be caught in its crosshairs.
