Singapore Market Records S$2.58 Billion Turnover As STI Slips

Singapore shares closed lower on Friday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) shedding 11.07 points or 0.2% to 5,401.89.

As at 5.20 pm, the market recorded 332 advancers against 209 decliners, with 1.38 billion securities traded for a total value of S$2.58 billion.

Among actively tracked blue chips, DBS Group Holdings fell S$0.49 or 0.66% to S$73.36.

Other counters on the Singapore Exchange included OCBC Bank at S$29.00, United Overseas Bank at S$39.96, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding at S$5.10, Singtel at S$4.24, Seatrium at S$2.00 and Singapore Exchange at S$20.73.

In the real estate investment trust (REIT) segment, CapitaLand Ascendas REIT slipped one cent or 0.46% to S$2.19. CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust stood at S$2.24, Mapletree Logistics Trust at S$1.08 and Mapletree Pan Asia Commercial Trust at S$1.19.

The STI tracks the performance of the 30 largest companies listed on the Singapore Exchange by market capitalisation.
