oBike Brings People Together in Helping Penang

On account of the recent severe floods in Penang, Malaysia is coming together to provide assistance in different ways to alleviate the hardships faced by the localsThe first smart dockless bike-sharing operator, oBike is launching a PrayForPenang Campaign to help victims that were affected by the flood. When 10,000 oBike users complete their rides every day from 8 to 12 November 2017, oBike will donate RM2,000 daily to the Penang Storm and Flood Relief Fund.

 

Since 8 November, oBike has been tracking all rides taken by its users all around the country which includes Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor and Terengganu. On top of the donation to the Penang Storm and Flood Relief Fund, users will also reap the benefits during this period by getting the first 30 minutes of the service for free.

New users can also support by taking oBike rides with no deposit required as an initiative for the company to encourage its users to come together in extending a helping hand to the victims.

“This initiative aims to put forward the amount of donation to aid the work in helping the Penang victims, while bringing Malaysians and oBike users together in unity during this rough times,” states Ng Yong Ching, Business Launcher of oBike.
