Even though golf is refrained during the FMCO, Malaysia’s golf courses have always been hailed as one of the best in Southeast Asia. This reputation has just been confirmed when a leading Asian golf publication inducting 5 golf courses into the Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia Award 2021 list.
At award event held in Wanning City, Hainan Province, China, the organisers announced the winners after carefully identifying the recipients based on criteria’s like shot values, playability, resistance to scoring, design variety, aesthetics, memorability, and ambience.
The five golf courses which won were Tournament Players Club or better known as TPC Kuala Lumpur coming at the top of the ranking at 21st, The Els Club Teluk Datai, Langkawi was at the 51st position while the The Mines Resort & Golf Club, Selangor came in at 73rd. Johor based Forest City Golf Resort was at 78th and Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, Selangor right behind at 79th.
This is a major coup for Malaysia, the pandemic will be a good time to reflect on the winnings and progress actively on the upkeep of the courses as golf will be returning to the fairways very soon.
