OMESTI Berhad To Offer Vaccination Services For Companies

The private public partnership is getting as many Malaysians vaccinated has kicked off, with OMESTI Berhad procuring vaccines to assist in accelerating the vaccination process in the country.

Science and Technology Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had said that private enterprises could be able purchase vaccines from Pharmaniaga and roll out vaccination campaigns on their capacity. The technology based company is launching Healthcare Vaccin8 as an alternative option for businesses to get their employees vaccinated especially for those who are keen to restart their business.

The Programme, offered by the OMESTI Healthcare Division is authorised by JKJAV and the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Gerard Monteiro, Executive Director of OMESTI Berhad says on the setting up the Healthcare Vaccin8 Programme, was possible due to its substantial technology heritage in the successful delivery of complex multi-stakeholder systems that will help roll out this vital initiative for the country. He noted that the sooner the majority of the population is protected, the sooner the economy can regain its footing and we can begin to open up to international business once more.

OMESTI Berhad has invested in Bemed Tempua Sdn Bhd, a pharmaceutical company which has been granted approval to acquire an initial allocation of one million doses of the Sinovac vaccine from Pharmaniaga LifeScience Sdn Bhd. The company has also engaged the services of licensed healthcare provider Mudah Healthcare as its delivery partner for the Vaccin8 Programme. “Our medical teams will be mobilised to carry out vaccinations on site at company premises, even in remote locations, offering safety, convenience and flexibility while minimising disruption to business operations. Appointments can also be arranged at clinics and medical centres convenient to company premises,” Mr Monteiro concludes.  

Once completed, all details of the COVID-19 vaccinations provided under the program will be reflected in MySejahtera to ensure a reliable and complete ‘single source of truth’ on the status of vaccinated individuals in Malaysia.    

According to OMESTI, it has already attracted significant interest from Malaysian companies and conglomerates in the financial services, plantation, manufacturing and hospitality sectors. Additionally, it is also looking to add COVID-19 testing services to the portfolio in the near future.
