MAFI: 12 Experts Appointed For The National Agricultural Advisory Council

Ronald spoke at the National Agriculture Advisory Council No. 2 , 2021 via a hybrid meeting at Menara Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang, Kuala Lumpur.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI) announced the appointment of 12 industry experts and academics with experience in the field as Members of the National Agricultural Advisory Council (MPPN) for the 2021 to 2022 session.

MAFI Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee said the appointment was in line with the launch of the National Agro-Food Policy (2021-2030) (DAN 2.0), which targets agro-food as a sustainable, resilient and high-tech sector.

He said it also aims to drive economic growth, improve the well -being of the people as well as prioritise food security and nutrition.

He added that the event is one of the best platforms for all council members consisting of academics and industry players to contribute ideas, views and suggestions in driving the direction of the agro -food sector, especially related to food security in line with current needs.

Among them, the Chairman of the Board of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Tengku Laksamana Perlis Datuk Seri Syed Razlan Syed Putra Jamalullail; Chairman of Sunway Group, Tan Sri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah; UPM Senior Research Fellow, Datin Paduka Dr Fatimah Mohamed Arshad and Executive Director of Leong Hup International Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Francis Lau Tuang Nguang.

“Besides that, PWTC Executive Director, Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim; UPM Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr Mad Nasir Shamsudin; Emir Research President, Datuk Wira Dr Rais Hussin Mohamed Ariff and UPM Lecturer, Associate Professor Dr Suhaimi Napis.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Lecturer, Professor Dr Sivamurugan Pandian; University of Malaya (UM) Lecturer, Professor Dr M Niaz Asadullah; Kamran Livestock Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Raghu Loganathan Pillai and UMS Lecturer, Dr Yasmin B.H. Ooi, ” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

On Monday, MAFI held the National Agriculture Advisory Council Meeting No. 2 of 2021 in a hybrid manner at Menara Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang, Kuala Lumpur.
