Petronas Gas Investing RM460 Million For Gas Compressor Station in Johor

Petronas Gas Berhad has confirmed that it will be building a gas compressor station in Kluang Johor with an investment value of RM460 million.

This is part of the group’s strategy for the Gas Transportation business, which will be constructing and installing a new gas compressor station in Kluang, which is aimed to increase the gas capacity of Peninsular Gas Utilization (“PGU”) II, particularly in the Southern region.

According to the national gas giant, the additional gas capacity resulting from this project will help spur the growth of gas demand in the region from various industries and provide security of supply to the existing gas users in this region. This Project is targeted to be completed and commissioned in Quarter 1, 2024.

Petronas Gas has indicated that it will be utlising its existing Islamic financing facility from RHB Islamic Bank Berhad to fund the project cost.
