Air Selangor: Unscheduled Water Cut In 472 Areas In Selangor

If the 2 days of continues rain is not bad enough, folks in Selangor will be in for another uncomfortable situation when Air Selangor cuts supply to the taps for another round of unscheduled water cut, this time effecting nearly the whole of Selangor.

The water management agency under the State, has informed that two Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) had to be shut down and that one of the plant was operating at partial production due to overflow of river levels. As for the LRA Langat 2 plant, the power cut to the area has resulted in a shutdown of the plant leaving no water supply to the area as well.

At the LRA Sg Langat however, the water has become murky due to mixing of flood water which leaves the centre onlt able to produce 40% of its daily production while the Cheras plant had to be closed due to floods. Following the shutdown a total of 472 areas in three regions, namely Petaling Region, Kuala Lumpur Region and Hulu Langat Region will experience unscheduled water supply disruptions.

There is no confirmation when the palnts can resume operating, due to road closures the difficulty for the Air Selagor technical crew to attend these issues has been exacerbated.

The full list of areas affected by the water cut can be found on Air Selangor Faebook page.
