Automation Valley Malaysia Set To Boost Malaysia’s IR 4.0 Aspirations

The Malaysian German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC) in a strategic alliance with Digital Penang has officially launched the Automation Valley Malaysia platform earlier today during a virtual soft launch event.

The soft launch was officiated by Dato’ Abdul Halim bin Hussain, Penang State Exco for Trade, Industry & Entrepreneur Development, and witnessed by MGCC’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Daniel Bernbeck and Digital Penang’s CEO Tony Yeoh.

The Automation Valley Malaysia (AVM) is an online membership community and marketplace with the aim of promoting automation technologies and ideas that will transition Malaysia into a high-income nation.

AVM provides a central platform for all organisations and individuals involved in robotics, artificial intelligence, as well as other related automation technologies, to network and participate in exclusive open tenders in a dedicated marketplace which is a first for the industry in Malaysia.

Dato’ Abdul Halim said, “I am excited by AVM’s potential to elevate Malaysia into becoming a regional leader for the Industrial Revolution 4.0. AVM will accelerate the growth of our local automation industries by having a simplified and dedicated platform for them to network and do business easily”.

Mr Daniel Bernbeck, CEO of MGCC said, “We developed AVM’s framework based on the feedback we received from our own members in the automation industries so we are confident that AVM members will be able to benefit greatly from this initiative. With their support, Malaysia will soon become THE preferred regional hub for IR 4.0 technologies”.

Digital Penang’s CEO Tony Yeoh weighed in as well, “Penang is already home to many automation companies and it’s only natural for us to be a part of this endeavour to further solidify Penang as the best destination for them to grow as well as attracting new investments from the automation field”.

Founded in 2021, AVM is an alliance between MGCC and Digital Penang to enable collaboration and knowledge transfer amongst the automation community in Malaysia. AVM is aiming to be the largest automation membership community and central marketplace in Malaysia, and consequently, the hub for all automation resources in terms of partners, products, new applications, and information on the latest technologies in Southeast Asia.
