Singapore Transport Minister M Iswaran was pleased with the ticket sales for the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix after being put on hold in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
Given the response from the ticket sales, the 2022 event is set to see the biggest turnout since the City State first hosted the event in 2008. Ticket sales have exceeded the 2019 F1 event which means this year’s turnout will be the largest he said during a press conference at a community event.
This year’s event will be held from September 30 to October after Singapore signed a new 7-year contract extension to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix on the island. Singapore is the only destination in the F1 tour that boasts both a night and street race.
