MGTC Collaborates with United Solar Energy for Net-Zero Commitment by 2050

A Memorandum of Cooperation was sealed between Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) and United Solar Energy on collaborating through renewable energy projects for achieve the Malaysian government’s commitment to net-zero carbon emissions as early as 2050.

The collaboration includes the installation of solar systems for buildings government, commercial, industrial and residential, industrial training platform development in the sector green technology and other projects related to the solar system such as innovation and research.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of MGTC, Ts. Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor and Chief Executive Officer of United Solar Energy, Mrs. Adila Azyan Ahmad Ishak, witnessed by the Chairman of the MGTC Board of Directors, Dato’ Iskandar Abdul Samad and Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Solar Energy, Mr. Ahmed Isaac Haron.

The signing ceremony and exchange of the Memorandum of Cooperation took place at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center in conjunction with the organization of International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM 2022).

“This collaboration proves that MGTC and United Solar Energy is moving towards the same goal of achieving reduced intensity carbon emissions with a net zero carbon target by 2050. In addition, this collaboration is aligned with one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (UNSDG), especially Goal 17 which is Partnerships for the Goals),” Ts Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor said.

IGEM 2022 takes place at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on October 12 to 14 with the theme “Towards Zero Carbon Clean, Fulfilling Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Commitments & Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG).”
