FBM KLCI Edged Slightly Higher, Supported by Buying Interest

Amidst the uncertainty the US midterm elections results, Bursa Malaysia ended the Thursday morning session in positive territory, reversed the earlier loss at the opening.

At noon, the FBM KLCI climbed 4.72 points to 1,450.91 as compared to Wednesday’s closing of 1,446.19. It was lifted by buying interest in selected heavyweights.

At 9:00am, the main index opened 3.88 points weaker at 1,442.31. It fluctuated in the range of 1,440.76 and 1,453.27 throughout the morning session.

Despite the mildly upbeat note, market breadth was negative with decliners trounced advancers 435 to 288, while 343 counters were unchanged.

Trading volume and value were registered at 2.13 billion units and RM735.33 million, respectively.

Top five gainers of the morning session were Hextar Technologies, F&N, Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia, Heineken Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Kepong.

Whilst top 5 losers were Perstima, Rapid Synergy, Hengyuan Refinery, Aeon Credit, Hap Seng Consolidated.
