Smart Tunnel To Be Closed

Smart tunnel operator, SMART has announced on its social media site that the tunnel will be closed in preparation for flood operation due to non-stop rain that began this afternoon.

SMART said it had proceeded with the closing after receiving instructions from the Department of Irrigation and Drainage at 7:13 pm.

The statement states the SMART Traffic Control unit had initiated Mode 3 where dispersal and closure of the Smart tunnel will be conducted while the flood waters are still being diverted.

The operator has advised users to use take an alternative route into the city and to check on SMART social page for further updates.

There was no additional information with regards to when the tunnel will be reopened.
