FBM KLCI Climbed Higher at Mid Day Buoyed by Dip-Buying of Heavyweights

Bursa Malaysia ended Thursday morning trading session almost flattish with the bell-weathered index FBM KLCI advanced 6.54 points or +0.45% at 1,476.09 as compared to yesterday’s close of 1,469.55.

The main index moved in tandem with the performance of regional peers and headed in the northward movement. After 2 consecutive days of battered stocks, the main index was supported by bargain-hunting on the index-linked heavyweights such as KLK, PETRONAS Gas, Nestle Malaysia, MPI.

According to some dealers, the overall sentiment remained rather numb despite the dip-buying activities. There might be a mild consolidation for the local bourse.

At 9:00 am, the index edged higher at 1,472.46.

During the morning trading session, the index was traded in the range of 1,471.91 – 1,477.70

Top five active counters for the morning session were Green Packet, Hong Seng Consolidated, Cypark Resources, Capital A, Revenue Group.

Top five gainers were Hectar Technologies, Malaysian Pacific Industries, Fraser & Neave, Nestle Malaysia, PPB.

Whilst top five decliners were Heineken Malaysia, Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia, Khind Holdings, PETRONAS Chemicals, Khind Holdings, Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia.
