The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has reminded the public to be wary of calls by unknown individuals posing as officials from the MCMC Tribunal.
It is to be informed that the MCMC does not have any tribunal named and operating as the MCMC Tribunal, nor is there any staff from the MCMC Tribunal as alleged.
Any announcement or notification regarding matters related to MCMC is usually carried out through official channels such as MCMC’s website or through MCMC’s social media platform and instead of using individual names, private mobile phone numbers or the use of dubious language.
Accordingly, MCMC urges the public not to be fooled by such calls from unknown parties. If you receive suspicious calls, immediately report the matter to the National Scam Response Center (NSRC) at 997 or to authorities such as the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) for attention and follow-up action.
