Reversed Earlier Gains, FBM KLCI Retreated 0.12% at Noon

Bursa Malaysia finished off the Friday morning trading session in red with the well-weathered index FBM KLCI skidded 1.72 points or -0.12% at 1,488.08.

At 9:00 am, the main index opened slightly higher at 1,490.56 vis-a-vis yesterday’s close of 1,489.80. The index reversed the earlier gains and headed south when the trading bell signaled the end of morning trading session.

During the morning trading session, the index was traded in the range of 1,487.01- 1,493.34.

Meanwhile, on the broader market exhibited overwhelmingly negative breadth with decliners outpaced gainers 466 to 387, while 364 counters were unchanged.

Trading volume and value were registered at 2.573 billion units and RM1.191 billion respectively.

Top five active counters for the morning session Borneo Oil, Sapura Energy, Zen Tech International, Ta Win International, ATA IMS.

Top five gainers were Nestle Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur-Kepong, Vitrox Corp, KESM Industries, PETRONAS Dagangan.

Whilst top five decliners were Fraser & Neave, Hextar Technologies Solutions, Heineken Malaysia, PETRONAS Gas, British-American Tobacco.
