Displaying Of Road Tax No Longer Necessary From Today: Anthony Loke

Road tax are no longer required to be displayed on their private vehicles, starting today.

Malaysians do not have to display their motor vehicle licenses, commonly referred to as road tax effective today.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook stated that this move is part of the ministry’s efforts to digitise services offered by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), particularly for motor vehicle and driving licenses.

Section 20 of the Road Transport Act, which mandates the display of motor vehicle licenses, will no longer be enforced, Loke added.

“This implementation will be done gradually, with the first phase covering individual private vehicles and motorcycles owned by Malaysians,” he said during a press conference today.
